On Tuesday, June 15, MassHousing and Freddie Mac hosted "The State of the Market in Massachusetts," a free online event that provided lenders, Realtors, nonprofit homebuyer education agencies and community partners with expert analysis of the market; insight into MassHousing's lending goals and efforts to increase homeownership rates among persons of color; and Freddie Mac's commitment to affordable lending in Massachusetts.

About the Speakers

Mounzer Aylouche

Vice President of Homeownership Programs

Mounzer Aylouche oversees all aspects of MassHousing's homeownership business, including production, lending operations and servicing. He has extensive experience in the home mortgage lending industry, having held positions in loan servicing, secondary marketing, loan origination, and senior management. At MassHousing, he previously served as secondary marketing officer, relationship manager and manager of Homeownership Business Development.

Mounzer was the 2017 Chairman of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association (MMBA), and the past president of the organization's charitable arm, the MMB Foundation. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management & Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and an MBA in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.

Ajita Atreya

Senior Economist, Freddie Mac

Ajita Atreya is a Senior Economist with the Economic and Housing Research Team of Freddie Mac. She is responsible for research, analysis and forecasts of the macroeconomy with a special focus on housing and mortgage markets.

Before joining Freddie Mac in 2016, Ms. Atreya worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Risk Center, where she conducted research on various economic and risk-related issues of natural hazard. She has published several research articles in leading peer reviewed journals, has presented her work at different conferences and is a member of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association and the National Association of Business Economists.

Ms. Atreya holds M.S. degree from the Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

James Hall

Affordable Lending Manager, Freddie Mac

Jim Hall joined Freddie Mac in 2018 as their Single Family Affordable Lending Manager to promote the Freddie Mac HFA Advantage Mortgage program to HFAs, lenders and realtors for low to moderate income buyers and families in affordable market areas.

Prior to this position, Mr. Hall worked at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) for 12 years as the Assistant Director in the Single Family Division, where he was responsible for business development while being an advocate for affordable lending for workforce families and the underserved. Before joining NJHMFA, Mr. Hall worked in the private mortgage industry for 20 years in various business development and operations positions.

Mr. Hall has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University – Camden.
