Septic Repair Loan Program
Bring your septic system into compliance with Title V
Is your septic system failing or not compliant with Title V regulations? The Septic Repair Loan Program, offered by MassHousing in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Protection and community lenders across the Commonwealth, is an affordable way to repair or replace your septic system.
Septic Repair Loan Program Features
- Low and no-interest loans available
- Loan amounts up to $25,000
- Flexible underwriting guidelines; no appraisal required
- Loans serviced by MassHousing
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Septic Repair Loan, borrowers must
- Be the owner-occupant of a 1- to 4-family home, including condominiums
- Meet income eligibility limits. The maximum income limits for all Massachusetts communities are:
- Deferred Loan: $69,500
- Amortized Loan: $139,000
Additional Features
- Closing costs may be rolled into the loan
- Project must be completed within six months of closing
