Building Community through Arts and Culture

Track based awards of $5,000-$20,000 and $20,000-$40,000 | Applications Due January 9, 2026 by 5 p.m.

MassHousing is dedicated to programming that encourages resident participation and promotes long-term housing stability. The Building Community through Arts and Culture funding opportunity supports creative placemaking and design strategies that enhance the physical and social environments of MassHousing-financed developments. Central to this initiative is meaningful community engagement, ensuring that residents have a voice in shaping their surroundings. This program recognizes the power of art, design, and cultural identity to strengthen communities.

Funding is available exclusively to properties that have received MassHousing financing. Application and eligibility information can be requested by emailing housingstabilitygrants@masshousing.com.

Housing Stability Inclusion and Leadership Mini Grants

Up to $5,000 awarded on a rolling basis so long as funding is available

Housing Stability Inclusion and Leadership Mini Grants aim to support resident centered initiatives that promote inclusivity and build capacity for resident leadership across the MassHousing portfolio. The Housing Stability Department recognizes that communities may be at various stages along a continuum of resident engagement. These grants are intended to be a tool to support a range of resident centered practices and leadership models.

This is not a request for proposals or notice of funding, but a solicitation of ideas and concepts to inform future Requests for Proposals. 

MassHousing is committed to supporting our business partners in cultivating well-rounded, thriving communities for residents. In this vein, MassHousing’s Housing Stability Department is requesting Letters of Interest (LOI) for ideas for pilot programs and initiatives that will benefit MassHousing sites and residents.
