Many of those who protect our homes, educate our children and provide for our well being can't afford to live in the towns where they work. But a partnership between private sector banks and MassHousing's Mortgage Insurance Fund, which insures specialized loans made by these banks, is working to change that.
Kevin Considine, a Harwich police officer, and his wife Nichole, a dispatcher in Barnstable, recently purchased a home in West Yarmouth thanks to a loan from Plymouth Savings Bank made possible by MassHousing’s Mortgage Insurance Fund.
"We would never have been able to buy a home if it were not for MassHousing," says Nichole. "Your program helped make our dreams a reality."
